Stag Dance School Stevenage, UK

My name is Kizzi-Beth and I am the principal and owner of STAG. I began my dance training at STAG in 1988 when I was 2 years old and continued until I was 16 years old.

I took many exams with STAG and also performed in many fetes and shows for them, all of which gave me the love of dance and performance that I have today.

At the age of 16 years I attended Penny Meekings Dance college where I gained my teaching associates in Ballet, Tap and National dance.

I also attended Margaret Howard dance college where I gained my Modern dance and Jazz associates. Whilst training for my teaching associates I was a student teacher at STAG. I entered many children into their exams as a student teacher. I also choreographed my pupils dances for the tri-annual show and designed their costumes, all of which were fantastic opportunities for me as a student.

From the age of 11 until 17 years old I participated as a dancer in the pantomimes at the Gordon Craig Theatre and I also participated in many of the Easter shows including Honk, The Wind in the Willows and Alice in Wonderland of which I got the opportunity of touring with. All of these were amazing opportunities that have left me with fantastic memories as a juvenile dancer.

When I reached the age of 16 I was then able to audition for the summer shows and participated in numerous shows including Copacabana, Crazy for You, 42nd Street, West Side Story and Chorus Line to name but a few. I have performed with some wonderful people and made many friends along the way. I hope that my love and enjoyment of dance is given to the children I am lucky enough to teach and hope that my students are inspired by me the way I was by Caroline.

Whether they go on to perform, teach or just enjoy dance as an after school activity that gives them opportunities to take exams perform on stage and socialize I will have achieved another goal in my life. In 2006 at the age of 19 years old I had the wonderful opportunity of directing, choreographing and designing my first complete show for every student that attended STAG.

It was at the finale of this show that Caroline the then owner of STAG handed STAG over to me. Caroline was my teacher throughout STAG and it is because of her encouragement and guidance throughout my years at STAG that I have the love of dance I have today.

I will always be grateful to Caroline for the amazing opportunities that she has given me, but also for believing in me as a teacher and allowing me to be a student teacher at her school and then passing the reins over to me for the school that she spent over 20 years teaching at before returning to her home in Wales.

Stag is a private after school, Dance School. To-date I have four dancing club locations in Stevenage available for teaching children to adults. I also teach dance at several junior mixed infant schools in both Stevenage and Hitchin.

You can now read Hannah Gauld Bio. One of our Dancing Instructors.
